Annapurna Circuit Trek Itinerary

  • Day 1 Kathmandu – 1,350m

    You arrive to Kathmandu today. You will be welcomed at the airport by BEAT representative and then transferred to hotel. Try to manage your arrival time by the afternoon so that we can meet for an important trip briefing session in the evening. We will leave you with information about the trip briefing timing upon your arrival

  • Day 2 Kathmandu Tour – 1,350m - B

    Before heading to the mountains, you have a full day in Kathmandu to acclimatize for the higher elevation of the mountains. While in Kathmandu, you will be at the elevation of 1,350 meters above sea level. We are taking you for a full day exploration of the Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu valley is a rich place in cultural heritage wonders and we are going to show you around some of them. You will visit four of the heritage sites today - Swoyambhunath, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. These sites are of historical, cultural and spiritual importance that will project the general overview of Kathmandu valley.

  • Day 3 Dharapani – 1,960m – B.L.D

    We leave Kathmandu today for Dharapani in the mountains. It is a long day drive to the destination. The day will bring us beautiful rural surroundings as we drive along the highway. We will drive past several towns and villages along the highway. Dharapani is the point where we start the trekking from but it will be tomorrow before we do so. We spend overnight at Dharapani and prepare for the big adventure starting tomorrow.

  • Day 4 Chame - 2,710m – B.L.D

    We wake up for a peaceful morning surroundings at Dharapani and prepare to trek to Chame after breakfast. Our walk advances towards Bagarchhap and continues further towards the destination. We will come across beautiful landscape, view and small quaint settlements along the trail. It is an incredible walking day to know the mountains more closely. We are still on the Marshyangdi River valley.

    Chame is the district headquarters of Manang district that is beautiful perched amidst mountains and peaceful surroundings in the river valley.

  • Day 5 Pisang – 3,330m – B.L.D

    We will trek the stretch of the mountain from Chame to Pisang. The route today meanders through river valley and rugged landscapes with bushy pine forests. We can also enjoy views of mountain peaks as we walk towards our destination.

    Pisang village has been divided into two parts – Lower Pisang and Upper Pisang. These two quaint villages portray the life in the mountains. Mud and rock houses with thatched roofing dominate the whole village of Pisang. We stay at Lower Pisang to spend our overnight today.

  • Day 6 Manang – 3,520m – B.L.D

    This is another wonderful day in the Marshyangdi River valley that takes us to Manang village today. Manang is the beautiful settlement of Manangi people who are mostly ethnic Gurungs and Ghales. This village also boasts a rich cultural tradition of the local people like other places that we have passed through.

    The walk there an experience of changing landscapes as we move higher into the elevation. Bushy forests start turning into even smaller and grassy pastures can be seen around with more of them expected further ahead.

  • Day 7 Manang Rest Day – B.L.D

    We take an extra day here to acclimatize before heading further higher towards Thorong La. We may hike around and explore the surroundings today as part of the acclimatization.

  • Day 8 Yak Kharka – 4,010m – B.L.D

    We are ready to trek further to the higher elevation now. Our destination for the day is Yak Kharka that will take us about 500 meters higher than Manang. Rocky and barren landscapes dominate the trail with occasional bushy plants on the sight. This is the true characteristic and beauty of high elevation. Impressive snow-capped mountains definitely add to the charm of the region.

    On a slow and easy paced walk, we reach the small settlement of Yak Kharka to stay overnight. This village lies on a mountain slope above the river bed. We stay overnight here.

  • Day 9 Thorong Phedi – 4,540m – B.L.D

    We walk of about another 500 meters today on the stretch from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi. Some people trek to high camp for overnight stay but we stay at Thorong Phedi that lies at the base of Thorong La. Perched amidst the rocky surroundings at the base of Thorong pass, Thorong Phedi is strategically situated at the place from where you can take a detour to Lake Tilicho. Lake Tilicho is the highest lake in the world that lies at the elevation of 4,920 meters above sea level.

    We spend overnight acclimatizing and resting to energize for the big adventure of walking over Thorong pass tomorrow morning.

  • Day 10 Muktinath (3,710m) via Thorong La – 5,416m – B.L.D

    The biggest day on our Annapurna Circuit Trekking adventure has come. We have to start the day well before the break of the dawn to cross the pass. With our flash lights on, we embark on the most awaited adventure of the trip – to walk over the famous Thorong La. Although the trail looks easy and meanders on a gradual slope in most of the section, we feel the tiring effects of increasing elevation. Slowly and eventually we reach the top of Thorong La pass to stand at 5,416 meters above sea level – the highest point on this trip.

    After spending some time taking pictures and enjoying the views at the pass, we continue on the trek descending towards Muktinath as our overnight destination.

  • Day 11 Jomsom – 2,745m – B.L.D

    We are on the last trekking day of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. We trek to Jomsom via Kagbeni. The view of Nilgiri and other mountains with rocky landscape, as we trek down the Kali Gandaki River valley, makes our day. As the day progresses, the trail will start getting windy along the river bank yet the trekking journey is definitely beautiful to enjoy.

    We eventually reach Jomsom to settle into a lodge and relax.

  • Day 12 Pokhara – 900m – B

    We take an early morning flight to Pokhara. This flight is a short but spectacular Himalayan flight. After about 20 minutes, we land at Pokhara airport and drive to hotel. We will have enough time to explore around Pokhara and spend a relaxing time.

    After a long time trekking in the rugged mountains, wandering around the city and exploring city wonders can feel amazing. We spend the amazing day in Pokhara.

  • Day 13 Kathmandu – B

    We return back to Kathmandu today. We drive back through the highway that takes us about six hours to Kathmandu. We deserve an easy and relaxing time back in Kathmandu.

  • Day 14 Trip Concludes – B

    All the services for the trip conclude today unless extended. If you are departing home or other destinations, we will transfer you to airport.
