Who can do this trek?

Annapurna base camp is a comparatively easier trek than the Everest Base Camp Trek. A person healthy enough to run, walk, and swim and those who can ascend and descend steps easily can complete this trek. That is why normal physical exercise is recommended for 2 to 3 weeks before the trek. Since it is a moderate type of trekking even a healthy aged person and also a child of 7- 8 and above can easily beat this trekking. And, some other specific queries can be answered via email.

 

What is the appropriate time to go on this trek?

Normally, this trek is favored to do from September to the early weeks of December as the climate is stable with mild warm days and cold nights. Monsoonal rain occurs during June, July, and August due to which trekking routes are quite desolate and those who love solitude do trekking in this particular time. Also, February, March, April, and May are the appropriate time for this trekking.

 

What should be packed for this trekking? How many?

Gear, equipment, and tools required for this trekking may vary with the particular month of trekking in which you book your trip. As it is a lodge-to-lodge trek in which you should sleep in small lodges and teahouses during the entire trek so you must be prepared with the right clothing and equipment as it may get colder at higher altitudes mainly during night time. Is First Aid available during the trip?

Our Guides are trained to use first Aid equipment during the trek. Guides are there for you 24 hours during the trek with tool kits and help you with any complexity that may occur during the trek.

 

Is a trekking guide experienced?

All our guides are professional trekkers who have already done all kinds of trekking including long, short, and even camping trekking in different trekking routes like Everest base camp trek, Annapurna trek, Langtang valley trek, Manaslu trek, etc.

 

Is a shower available during the trip?

Hot shower is almost available in tea houses or lodges during the trek. Somewhere hot bucket shower is available rather than a hot tap shower in that case one needs to bath unconventionally. Also ascending to high altitude may lack hot water facilities mainly in the colder season.

Moreover, during the peak trekking season, it is quite challenging to get hot shower facilities due to high demand. All the lodges and teahouses will charge you a certain amount depending upon the season and altitude.

 

Is this trek suitable for beginners?

Annapurna base camp trek is a moderate type of trekking and probably one of the best trekking for beginners. As the trek goes for 7 to 11 days as per your itinerary where you start your trek from an altitude of 1495m and by gradual approach in that period you will be reaching a maximum altitude of 4130m i.e. Annapurna base camp. Thus this is the best trekking for trek beginners.

Besides, it will not be difficult as you will be guided by an expert trekker who has a wide knowledge of trekking in Nepal and the mountain region. Thus, he will escort you throughout the trip.

 

Can we charge our electrical devices during the trek?

Electricity is available to charge your phone, cameras, PCs, and other electronic devices. However, you need to pay some extra cost to charge your phone and devices. Not all lodges and teahouses will charge you extra cost for using electricity. So, it is better to discuss the cost with the owner before using the services.

 

 Is there Wi-Fi whilst trekking?

Yes, you will get the facility of Wi-Fi during the trek. Though Wi-Fi is not available while trekking in the daytime, you can enjoy the internet at the teahouses and lodges where you stay overnight. But again you have to pay some extra cost as Wi-Fi charge which may vary with the altitude we attain.

And for the daytime or the trekking duration, you can get internet data packages using a local SIM card which you can buy in Kathmandu/Pokhara.

 

 Is there any chance of altitude sickness during the trek?

As the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate type of trekking there is very less chance of getting altitude sickness for a normal and healthy human. But if a person rushes or avoids minor illness he/she could get altitude sickness. That is why following the absolute guidelines of the trekker/guide is compulsory whilst trekking. On the same note, drinking 4 to 5 liters of water during trekking and staying hydrated is also very necessary. Likewise, eating a light meal during the trekking will also be beneficial for your digestive system and helps to avoid mountain sickness.
